Method
- Combine warm milk, honey/maple syrup, melted butter/oil, and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle yeast over wet ingredients; let sit 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add dandelion petals and salt to the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place loaf in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until almost doubled.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown (190°F/88°C).
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a richer flavor, try using browned butter instead of melted butter.
